INTERMODAL DRAYAGE
Acme has facilities strategically located to serve all Chicago-area intermodal yards, as well as carrier networks for international transport. The company is a party to the Uniform Intermodal Interchange & Facilities Access Agreement (UIIA), handling both overseas and domestic (Equipment Management Pool — EMP and UMAX) containers.
Services include:
- Import and export capability.
- Day cab and sleeper tractors available.
- Transloading to over-the-road trailers and flatbeds.
- Pre-pull service and secure storage of containers.
- Over-weight, over-dimension container specialists utilizing high-capacity tri-axle and spread-axle chassis.*
- Container consolidation – loading freight from multiple origins into one container for shipment.
- Container break-bulk – freight bound for multiple destinations unloaded, sorted, stored and delivered.
- Live unload and/or drop-and-pull service options available.
- Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card qualified drivers.
*Acme will take reasonable steps to ensure heavy containers are moved in compliance with weight regulations. However, in the event Acme and/or its contractors are cited for overweight violations, the CUSTOMER is responsible for all costs arising from the violation.
TRANSLOADING
Transloading and cross docking to and from containers to over-the-road trailers, flatbeds and warehouse inventory.
TRUCKING
Dry Van LTL
Acme offers its customers over-the-road cartage with a fleet of dry van trailers and straight trucks.
Dry vans in 40-foot through 53-foot lengths.
Trailers with roll-up and swing doors.
Live unload and/or trailer drop service options available.
Transloading and consolidation/break-bulk service available.
Straight trucks in 24-foot lengths with dual-axle, 28,000lb capacity.
Direct Less-Than-Truckload-Lot (LTL) service available in greater Chicago area and nationwide through partner carriers.
Power-only service available.
Flatbed
Acme specializes in flatbed freight. Drivers are experienced in securing and safely moving flatbed commodities including steel coils, sheets and bars, machinery, lumber and drums. Acme’s flatbed fleet includes open and covered flatbed trailers of various lengths to meet customer requirements.
Flatbeds available in 38-foot through 48-foot lengths.
Step deck trailers available.
Securement with chains/binders and/or straps to suit the load.
Full tarping capability to protect product.
WAREHOUSING
Acme has 56,000 square-feet of temperature-controlled warehouse space available in University Park, Illinois in the heart of Midwest markets. The facility is near all Chicago-area highways and rail yards and minutes from I-57, I-80 and I-294.
The warehouse features 5 sealed dock spots, a grade level drive-in door and a paved, fenced and lighted yard.
Forklift capacity in excess of 30,000 lbs.
Freight types handled include palletized, super sacks, floor-loads, cartons, coils, slip sheets, crated, bar stock, drums and more – Acme finds a way.
Additional services include palletizing, stretch wrapping, fulfillment, consolidation, break-bulk, automobile loading, exporting, importing and more.
Experts in metals – wire, coils, ferrous and nonferrous scrap, bars, pipe and sheet.
Secure yard storage of containers and trailers.
